Le Petit Pressigny and Preuilly sur Claise have shops and restaurants to satisfy most requirements. Larger supermarkets can be found in La Roche Posay, Loches and Liguel, which are only a 15-minute drive away. For the full shopping experience, Tours and Poitiers offer all you could possibly desire!

Châteaux of the Loire

Angers, Azay-le-Rideau, Blois, Brissac, Chambord, Chenonceau. Cheverny, Chinon, Rivau, Saumur, Valençay, Villandry

- all are within an hour’s drive of Le Chaiseau.

Local Places to Visit Within a 30 Minute Drive

La Roche Posay – pretty Spa town on the Creuse with a river beach for really hot days. If you like a flutter there is a Casino and there are monthly Horse Racing days at the Hippodrome. Also a good Equestrian Centre for organised horse and pony rides for all ages http://www.la-gatiniere.com

Chatillon sur Indre – very good go-karting track. Website in French but shows the quality of the track and the excellent facilities. http://www.pole-karting.com/chatillon/index.htm

Angle sur l’Anglin – credited with being one of the prettiest towns in France set on a river with ruined abbey, also has a river beach

Preuilly sur Claise - although so near, really worth a walk round up to the museum and by the river.

Azay le Ferron - Very nice Château www.chateau-azay-le-ferron.com in centre of village and Animal Park on outskirts with a drive through area first and then park and walk. Tigers, giraffes etc

Descartes - Canoe centre where they drive and drop you off with hired canoe for 1 - 4 hours paddle back to your car. At the same place is a park with a complex of five outside swimming pools with slides etc

Le Grand Pressigny – Château which houses a very good pre historic museum. Fossils etc.

Loches Fortified citadel and one of the best châteaux in the Loire. A beautiful town with thriving Wednesday and Saturday flower markets.

Lake Bellebuche on the Brenne has a bucket and spades beach for children.
